ABA Holding’s iSpot opens new Apple Authorized Service Center in Villaggio Mall

Much to the delight of Apple product loyalists, Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Holding opened the second iSpot Service Center in Qatar at the popular Villaggio Mall. The Apple Authorized Service Provider opened its doors to the public on Friday, 19th February, 2021.

Strategically located right opposite Carrefour hypermarket, the new iSpot Service Center offers Mac’s signature service and warranty repairs on all product categories by a trained team of Apple-certified technicians, as well as the entire suite of Apple products.

With a welcoming environment, friendly staff and comfortable waiting area for customers, the iSpot Service Center provides services such as full health checkup for all Apple products, iPhone battery replacement, iPhone display replacement, AirPods sound quality test, MacBook repairs, iMac repairs, software update, reformatting and installing a new system.

To celebrate the launch of the new store, iSpot has announced a full week of free complete health checkup for all Apple products, starting from Friday, 26th February, 2021 until Thursday, 4th March, 2021.

Galeries Lafayette Doha proudly celebrates Qatar National Day 2020

Commemorating the greatness of the nation, Galeries Lafayette Doha celebrated Qatar National Day (QND) from December 1 to 18, 2020.  The Department Store was all dressed up in the Qatari colors, emanating the pride that the day entails.

The highlight of the celebrations were the store windows designed exclusively in collaboration with Qatari artist Aisha Al-Thani. A lover of traditional Arabic calligraphy, Aisha loves presenting culture through her designs. Her exclusive calligraphy for Galeries Lafayette Doha, in striking gold and maroon, depicted the QND slogans through the years.

The calligraphy art merged all the words into one larger artwork representing the artist’s vision of the unity of people in Qatar. Through her creativity, Aisha told a wonderful story of the founding fathers and how their everlasting principles and values still resonate to this day.

Speaking about the exhibit, Aisha said: “This art of mine represents my love for my country, Qatar. It’s about family, home and solidarity. I think Galeries Lafayette Doha has done a beautiful job in portraying the emotions this day involves. From the choice of colors, which are culturally relevant, to the idea of the QND slogans timeline – were all very well thought through. It was the perfect theme to depict my art.

“It is very gratifying to know that I have done it to celebrate my country. Also, it is interesting and fun seeing my ‘classical’ form of calligraphy merged as an art form with fashion.”

The theme of the celebrations was also reflected in exclusive dishes created for the occasion at the restaurants and cafes in Galeries Lafayette Doha. Limited-edition desserts and a savory item was carefully designed and include traditional ingredients from Qatar and the region.

This fusion of the right, delectable ingredients was reflective of the vibrant Qatari culture. Each dish was a gastronomical delight and equally satisfying for the eye and soul.

As part of the celebrations, on December 16, Galeries Lafayette Doha hosted the exclusive launch of a new fragrance from the brand of Qatari influencer Abdulla Al-Abdulla. The fragrance was created especially for Qatar National Day and added to the spirit of the occasion.

PepsiCo awards ABA Beverages for exceptional performance during Covid-19 pandemic

Ending the pandemic-hit year on a positive note, Ali Bin Ali Beverages won the prestigious PepsiCo Award. The award recognized employees and bottling partners for living their professional lives by PepsiCo values. The team leadership, management and frontliners were also recognized for their dedication and performance under Covid-19 duress.

In November 2020, at a special dinner gathering held at ABA Hospitality’s Em Sherif Restaurant, PepsiCo’s Senior Leadership awarded ABA Beverages team for their tremendous efforts since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nothing was more fitting than to recognize the total engagement of ABA Beverages employees and supervisors who were locked in at the Street 2 Plant in the Industrial Area, and had the responsibility to run the two filling lines without being able to return to their homes and families for 10 long weeks.

Ahmad Suleiman, a recently hired young production supervisor, exhibited maturity and composure, making the right decisions on many critical occasions. Julito Calimpong De Asis and Thavaseelan Thangarajah both exhibited admirable motivation, focus and calm. Eracleo Malco Hinola’s wife gave birth to their son while ‘Leo’ was locked up at the plant and doing his duty.

A team of 50 people found themselves unable to leave the site, working diligently to ensure a continuous supply of beverages. As a result, at no point during the Covid-19 crisis did the consumers in Qatar find themselves unable to get their favorite beverages in their regular shopping place.

Even the installation and commissioning of a newly acquired, state-of-the-art filling line was halted by the lockdown. Initially, Madhu Sethumadhavan and his team worked remotely to guide the technicians on site, then eventually joined them to complete the installation and start production of Aquafina water without the planned help of the equipment supplier.

President & General Manager of PepsiCo Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan, Mr. Aamer Sheikh, said: “The ABA Beverages team’s clear focus to get things done has had a large part to play in our joint success at being able to steady the supply chain, stay the course on make, sell & deliver, and reinforce our commitment to our consumers by providing their favorite beverage at a place of their choice.

“While dealing with various operating restrictions, the team acted with integrity, kept employees and consumers safe, and made donations that have made a positive impact where it was needed. We are pleased to recognize the truly heroic efforts of the ABA Beverages team during these exceptional times. While we may not be fully out of the challenges yet, there is no better time than while it is still fresh in our minds to say a simple thank you to the ‘PepsiCo Heroes’.”

The Division also used the occasion to internally recognize and celebrate the dedication and commitment of many more heroes during the Covid-19 pandemic. Sabine Winner Neuhaus, Abdel Hamid Chariout, Ahmed Salmaan, Tarek Hassan Elashry, Hesham Mahmoud Reda, Jerry Moan Koshy, Anan Mahdi Masoud, Antesh Bakshi, Nabil Hassan Ekky, Ihab Moustafa Amin, Dileep Sadasivan Pillai and through them all their teams were awarded for their good work.

After taking on the challenges related to the blockade, the implementation of the excise tax on carbonated beverages and the Covid-19 pandemic, the ABA Beverages leadership and employees are ready for more. Hopefully, these challenges will be positive ones such as the 2022 World Cup as well as the line extensions planned for the next three years.

Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar wins 2020 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award

In another big achievement for the Group, Ali Bin Ali Hospitality’s Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar has been awarded the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Award by Tripadvisor. The recognition is based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the Covid- pandemic. The announcement was made in October 2020.

Tripadvisor, one of world’s largest travel platforms, is used by travelers across the globe who upload their reviews and feedback about their overall experience at a restaurant. Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar has consistently received great diner feedback, placing them in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.

The ‘Art of Fashion’ campaign lets you step into a world inspired by the Memphis movement – an Italian design movement that began in 1981- known for its bold clashing colors, Art Decor geometric shapes and pop-art color-palette with a hint of 1950 kitsch aesthetic. Galeries Lafayette has very aesthetically added its own twist to the idea by introducing elements of humor and surprise, which can be found throughout our store.

The entire store manifests the pleasantly quirky elements of the campaign with irregular movements, which involve intriguing patterns. From the store windows to the masks the staff and mannequins are wearing, the space is a reflection of the creative movement.

In the true Galeries Lafayette style, the campaign allows guests to experience the theme in different forms. Interactive screens located on the second floor of the Department Store resonates the colorful campaign. Visitors can step into the life-size magazine cover box and experience the glamor of being in the spotlight.

The restaurants and cafes inside Galeries Lafayette Doha also reflect the ‘Art Of Fashion’ story in their own delectably creative way. Galeries Lafayette Doha unveils ‘Mother Blossom’ campaign in association with international paper artist Zoe Bradley

Adding to the bloom to spring 2020, Galeries Lafayette Doha launched the unique ‘Mother Blossom’ campaign on February 22, 2020. The theme not only celebrates the advent of spring but also paved the way for the upcoming Mother’s Day celebrations in the Middle East on March 21. The stars of this campaign were the creative floral designs by world-famous British paper artist Zoe Bradley.

 

To support the campaign, Zoe was herself present at the launch event of the campaign where the local media and social media influencers got a rare chance to interact with her. The paper artist, whose work combines sculpture, fashion and theatre, conceptualized and created some exclusive pieces to adorn the Parisian Department Store for the ‘Mother Blossom’ campaign.

 

Speaking about her creations, Zoe said: “I work with paper just as a designer works with fabric, folding, curling, scoring and stitching the paper. My challenge is always to create something unexpected from its original 2D sheet form into a magical 3D sculpture. I am excited to present my contemporary paper art installation and it’s very rewarding to see my paper sculptures fit into different environments and cultures.”

 

Apart from the four floral headpieces featured in the store, it is the pastel pink paper floral dress that will leave everyone spellbound. This is the first time the dress has been displayed to the public and the discerning customers of Galleries Lafayette.

 

Symbolizing the awakening of a new season and in celebration of Mother’s Day, the dress featured prominently at the entrance to Galeries Lafayette Doha, offering an inspirational welcome on a monumental scale.

 

The dress took three weeks to make by highly skilled members of Zoe’s team. It’s adorned with over 1,500 hand-cut flowers, including a typically English variety of roses, cherry blossom, delphinium, daisies and butterflies. Each individual flower was applied by hand, creating the pattern and texture of the gown. The final creation was led by Zoe’s own instinctive eye – which makes every dress of hers truly unique.

 

Thanking Zoe for her support and contribution to the ‘Mother Blossom’ campaign, Creative & Store Design Director of Galeries Lafayette Doha Kevin Gerard Pender said: “It is an honor to have Zoe Bradley’s art displayed in our store. The way she conceptualized and created the unique works to art to merge with our campaign is truly awe inspiring. Zoe’s paper sculpture will create an unforgettable experience for our clients.”

 

Zoe draws upon her skills as a former fashion designer, working like a tailor while also applying her artistry using the paper form. Today, her clients include worldwide luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany & co., Graff, Christian Louboutin, Sotheby’s and Harrods.
