Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar wins 2020 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award

In another big achievement for the Group, Ali Bin Ali Hospitality’s Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar has been awarded the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Award by Tripadvisor. The recognition is based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the Covid- pandemic. The announcement was made in October 2020.

Tripadvisor, one of world’s largest travel platforms, is used by travelers across the globe who upload their reviews and feedback about their overall experience at a restaurant. Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar has consistently received great diner feedback, placing them in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.

Speaking about the recent accolade, Group General Manager – Ali Bin Ali Hospitality Bassel Salim Ammar said: “This is a proud moment for the entire ABA Hospitality division and I applaud the dedication of the Em Sherif Restaurant Qatar team. Ali Bin Ali Holding’s Em Sherif Qatar celebrates 2nd anniversary

On Tuesday, 25th February 2020, Em Sherif Restaurant at the Sheraton Grand in Doha celebrated the completion of its 2nd successful year in Qatar. The event began at 7:00 pm where Mrs. Mireille Hayek – the founder and creator of Em Sherif Restaurants along with her brother Mr. Dany Chaccour – CEO of SGR offshore, welcomed the guests to the special evening that celebrated Em Sherif Restaurant’s story of success.

 

The idyllic setting with the panoramic view of the Arabian Gulf and Doha Corniche, was the perfect backdrop for the dazzling ceremony. The founder joined the gathering filled with VIP guests and special invitees, who applauded the continuing strength and the achievements of Em Sherif brand.

 

As always, Em Sherif Restaurant had an extraordinary surprise planned to entertain its guests. Aziza, the renowned Lebanese singer performed live at the event, much to the delight of the invitees, the media and social media influencers who were present at the evening. In addition to those who were there to celebrate the 2nd year anniversary, the restaurant was packed to capacity with fans to the invited guest.  Mrs. Hayek and Mr. Chaccour were joined by the management of Ali Bin Ali Hospitality, the franchisee of Em Sherif Restaurant in Qatar.

Speaking to the media, Mrs. Hayek said, “It is truly a joy for us to mark the 2nd year Anniversary of Em Sherif Restaurant in Qatar. Within this short period of time the restaurant has earned a distinguished name for its cuisine, setting and ambience. We are glad that after Lebanon and Kuwait, Em Sherif Restaurant has been able to delight food lovers in Qatar. We are proud that we continue Em Sherif tradition with consistency in quality and taste everywhere, every time and our guests’ value it”.

Ali Bin Ali Hospitality attains new heights, receives Food Safety Management System ISO 22000 certification

Adding another achievement to the Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Holding portfolio, the Ali Bin Ali Hospitality division has been awarded the Food Safety Management System ISO 22000 certification. With this, Ali Bin Ali Hospitality became one among the top hospitality companies in Qatar to receive the recognition.

 

The certificate was ceremoniously handed over on August 1, 2018 by Bureau Veritas Certification Qatar at a private event held at ABA Hospitality’s fine-dining restaurant, Em Sherif Qatar.

 

The award was handed over by the Chief Executive Officer of Bureau Veritas Qatar, Mr. Selim Kseib, to General Manager of ABA Hospitality Mr. Philippe Tardieu. 

 

Mr. Tardieu thanked his team for their efforts and said, “Ali Bin Ali Group is investing a lot in the hospitality industry. To support this growth, it was an essential part of our strategy to create a safe and quality foundation for our food business. We wanted to ensure our expansion with the best international practices. Food is pleasure for the senses but its quality is critical for our business reputation. ISO 22000 is the ultimate recognition of our standard. It not only validates and adds value to our efforts but also encourages us to seek excellence in our everyday operations.”

ISO 22000 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization dealing with food safety. This international standard specifies requirements for a food safety management system where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption. The certificate integrates the principles of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system and this makes ISO 22000 the highest form of accreditation in the industry.
